who reads this blog?

I am often curious exactly who reads this blog. So, a la Leiter, consider this an opportunity introduce yourself. Even if you don’t comment often (or ever), I am interested who the readers are.

Update 8.8: Hmm, there have been ~50 views of this post. And yet, there have only been 6 responses. Why this is is puzzling.

Not so puzzling — commenting takes some (non-zero) time and effort, after all.

  9. I’ve never read a post.

  10. I tend to check when I have the time.

“there have been ~50 views of this post”

Bear in mind that post views is not necessarily a decent indicator of readers. Various things can set that off, including, presumably, multiple views from the same person, as well as bots.

(At one stage I had around 2000 hits from Philosophy Etc per day; I suspect it was the updating blogroll. Since then I’ve realised that hit counters aren’t just a little off, but potentially hugely misleading. )

  11. New reader here.

  12. You’re now on my google reader! (Link from Clayton’s blog.)

  13. I do. But sometimes I end up with 30 philosophy related posts in google reader, and hit mark all as read, and then only later notice a post asking who reads a blog..
